English - I did an illustration workshop with the fantastic children's books illustrator Angela Lago some years ago.
In this workshop, she requested students to make a storyboard of a picturebook for one of her texts. And she explained that the text tells one story, and the illustration tells another or a complementary story.
When I showed her my storyboard, she laughed aloud and said: "That is what I am talking about!". This was a magic moment, and I kept it in my heart.
Angela Lago was a fabulous woman. She passed away in 2017, a tremendous loss for all. When that happened, I decided to illustrate that storyboard from the workshop in honor of her... and this is the result.
Portugês - Há alguns anos, fiz um workshop de ilustração com a fantástica ilustradora de livros infantis Angela Lago. E nessa oficina, ela pediu aos alunos que fizessem um storyboard de um livro ilustrado com um de seus textos "Então" algo como "Então". Na oficina, ela falou sobre texto contando uma história e ilustração contando outra, ou uma história complementar. Quando mostrei a ela meu storyboard, ela riu alto e disse! "É disso que estou falando!" Este momento foi mágico para mim e está guardado em meu coração para sempre. Ângela Lago era uma pessoa maravilhosa. Ela faleceu em 2017, um ano depois de conhecê-la, e é uma grande perda para mim e para a ilustração brasileira. Quando isso aconteceu resolvi ilustrar o storyboard que fiz em sua oficina em homenagem a ela e esse é o resultado.
