Bless Me
In 2023, I was invited to take part in Sound Comics, a collaborative project that brought together comic artists and musicians from the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
My contribution was a seven-page comic titled Bless Me, inspired by the song of the same name by Brazilian rapper Djonga. In it, I explore my relationship with my grandmothers, drawing parallels with the bond between Djonga and his grandmother portrayed in the song.
The artwork was created using gouache and collage, while the book's layout was designed by Régis Luiz, who was also responsible for the publication's overall graphic design.
Sound Comics was funded through a crowdfunding campaign and was nominated for the 2024 Ângelo Agostini Award, one of Brazil's most prestigious comics awards.
